Sacraments

The seven Sacraments of the Church (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Penance, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders and Holy Matrimony) were instituted by Jesus Christ as the principal means of pouring out his grace on his Church. A Sacrament is both a sign and an effective instrument of God’s grace. They are celebrated by means of visible rites, or liturgical ceremonies, and they make present the special grace that is proper to each of them, to help us grow in Christian faith.
